Frottage Artist: Plant Rubbings From the Garden

These prints were created for the exhibition ‘In our Garden’ to celebrate Welwyn Garden City’s centenary, which unfortunately was cancelled due to the pandemic. Inspired by Max Ernst and his frottage art, I took rubbings of plants in my garden, which I then digitally stitched together and manipulated to create imagined landscapes and plants. Things are not what they seem! Photo polymer print plates were made from these images and I’ve enjoyed exploring the effects of printing with different colours. I can envisage using these plates to create more prints in the future, possibly using some more radical colours. Read the blog. Click on any image to enlarge
