Inspired by the deteriorating peatlands and the rectangles of the water channels, the sluice gates and cut peat. The design represents the sinking landscape and the breakdown of the peatland eco-system.
Layers of earth pigments were painted onto linen with the final layer including soil from the Cambridgshire Fens. The tumbling rectangle design was screenprinted with earth pigments on top. Hand stitching was added to the tumbling rectangles.
